A website can be perfectly healthy while some visitors still cannot reach it. The path between a customer and a service crosses networks, power systems, DNS, cloud platforms and local providers. Availability therefore has a wider context than the status of one server.

Resilience means avoiding one fragile dependency

No architecture can eliminate every external event. What businesses can do is understand important dependencies, monitor from outside their own infrastructure and avoid unnecessary single points of failure. That turns an outage from a mystery into something easier to diagnose and communicate.
